How the CIPP Process Works

Pipe relining follows a consistent sequence. Each step matters, and skipping any one of them can lead to a liner that won’t perform as expected.

Camera Inspection

We start by running a sewer camera through the lateral to locate damage, measure the pipe, and confirm the host pipe can support a liner. This inspection also rules out conditions that would make relining the wrong choice.

Cleaning the Pipe

Before any liner goes in, the pipe needs to be clear. Depending on what the camera shows, we use hydro jetting or mechanical tools to remove roots, grease, sediment, and debris. A clean pipe wall is what allows the resin to bond correctly.

Liner Insertion & Curing

We insert a felt or fiberglass tube saturated with epoxy resin into the damaged section. Once it’s positioned, the liner is cured using heat, UV light, or ambient conditions. As it hardens, it forms a rigid, seamless new pipe inside the old one.

Final Verification

A second camera pass confirms the liner is seated correctly, the cure is complete, and flow has been restored before we return the line to service.

CIPP vs. Pipe Bursting vs. Excavation

Trenchless pipe lining works when the host pipe retains enough of its original shape to hold a liner. Cracks, root intrusion, minor corrosion, and localized leaks are all candidates. What it can’t fix is a pipe that has fully collapsed, shifted off-grade, or experienced structural failure across a long section. Those situations typically call for pipe bursting or open excavation instead.

The camera inspection is what determines which repair method fits. We won’t recommend lining if the pipe’s condition makes another method the better call.
